Blueberry Harvest

During this volunteer opportunity, participants help us harvest fresh blueberries that are then shared with families served by the Real Life Center.

This is a fun, free, and flexible way to make a difference.  No long-term commitment required-just come when you're able and enjoy a peaceful morning helping others.  All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
When: Every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday (weather permitting)
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Season: June through mid-July

Information:
  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Must complete a "Volunteer Agreement and Release of Liability Waiver" form. (Download form at the bottom of the page.)
  • Bees DO like muscadines. (Advisement for people who are allergic)
  • Closed-toe shoes preferred

Host

Muscadine (Grape) Harvest

A U-Pick 4 Others host has an important role.  This volunteer is the face of the Real Life Center during our U-Pick 4 Others season.  Responsibilities include greeting each participant, checking in the pickers, giving harvesting instructions, packaging the harvested fruit, and delivering the fruit to the RLC warehouse.  We are looking for volunteers who can commit to multiple U-Pick 4 Others picking days during the blueberry and muscadine grape harvest season.
This Volunteer Agreement and Release of Liability Waiver form must be completed for any person volunteering at the RLC Orchard.  Email the completed form to Dixie King, the Orchard Manager, at dking@reallifecenter.org.
