Group Serve

We love welcoming groups to serve at the Real Life Center! Whether inside our Center, out in the Orchard, or at our monthly Mobile Food Pantry, each opportunity allows your group to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors. Our group projects vary based on current needs, but every act of service is an opportunity to serve one another humbly in love.

Monthly Mobile Food Pantry

Group service inside the Center is available October through March, when we have the greatest need for sorting and organizing food donations. Projects may include sorting food from drives, pre-packing grocery bags for clients, stocking pantry shelves, and placing school supplies in backpacks.
  • Groups can serve on Saturday mornings or Monday–Wednesday evenings, typically for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Group size: 6–15 participants
  • Age requirement: 14+
  • Physical requirement: Ability to stand and carry items (no heavy lifting required)
Due to high demand, we can only schedule one service project per group at a time.
Our Orchard provides a unique opportunity for groups to serve outdoors while supporting our food assistance programs. Orchard volunteer opportunities are primarily available in June and July for the blueberry harvest and September for the muscadine grape harvest.
Blueberry Harvest
  • Groups can serve on Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday mornings, 8:00 to 10:00 am.
  • Group size: up to 30
  • Age requirement: all ages (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.)
Muscadine Grape Harvest
  • Groups can serve on Saturday mornings, 8:30 to 10:00 am.
  • Group size: up to 30
  • Age requirement: 12+ (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.)
Each month, Grace Church hosts a Mobile Food Pantry in support of the Real Life Center and in collaboration with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This outreach is held in addition to the regular Food Pantry at the Real Life Center and serves as a vital way to bring food directly to families in need.
Group volunteers help with portioning and packaging food, distributing groceries to families, and providing hospitality and support at our off-campus distribution site.
  • Group size: Up to 10 participants
  • Age requirements: 14-15 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers 16 and older may serve without adult supervision.
This opportunity is ideal for small groups looking to make a direct impact in the community through hands-on service.
