Eagle Scout Project:
By: The Citizen; Tue, 07/21/2009
Life Scout Ricky Rojas, of Troop 172 at New Hope Baptist Church, North, will be coordinating a county-wide food and clothing drive to benefit the Fayette Samaritans and Real Life Center on Aug. 15 (rain date: Aug. 29).  The collections will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at several stores throughout Fayette County, and will be manned by Boy Scouts. Goals for the Eagle Scout project are to collect a total of 10,000 food and clothing items and to make the collection an annual event. Boy Scout troops in Fayette County are requested for assistance in manning the collection points and each boy helping will receive service hours and a special thank you. For more information, or to make a donation please visit http://summerharvestforfayettecounty.blogspot.com.

Dogwood Church Food Drive:  We owe a heartfelt thank you to our Dogwood Church Family!  There were close to 800 bags of food collected during our food drive in support of the ministry at the Real Life Center.  This is the largest food drive in Dogwood's history!  A special "thank you" goes to Mark Johnston and his small group for the 179 bags they collected in his neighborhood!  You are all a part of helping us to reach out to the families in our community that need our love and support right now.  Thank you for your generosity!

Peachtree City Post Office Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive:
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Peachtree City families!  We received over 200 postal boxes of food (~6250 lbs) collected Saturday, May 9 by the PTC Postal Carriers.  This is the largest food drive the PTC Post Office has had.  We owe a tremendous thanks to all the Postal Carriers for volunteering to collect the food.  They did a wonderful job advertising the drive - it was a huge success!  And thanks to the many wonderful volunteers who helped sort through the food at the Real Life Center.  We couldn't have done it without their help!

Below are some of the pictures taken at the post office and the Real Life Center during the food drive.
